The technical details behind this lens The Laowa 11mm f/4.5 FF RL Lens - Nikon Z offers sharp and accurate imagery. It features the huge 126° angle of view, aided by an advanced optical design which includes aspherical high refractive index, and low dispersion elements, to realize well corrected, sharp, and color-accurate imagery. The Laowa lens has a manual focus design and allows working with subjects as close as 7.5" away and its built-in petal-shaped hood helps to block stray light from causing unwanted lens flare. This amazing lens is a unique wide-angle prime with rectilinear rendering that is excellent for architecture, nature, interior, and landscape applications. Powerful Performance The two aspherical elements and one ultra-high refractive index glass elements help to control distortion and spherical aberrations for improved sharpness and accurate rendering. Ultra-wide prime is designed for FX-format Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras but can also be used with DX models where it provides a 16.5mm equivalent focal length. Three extra-low dispersion elements are used to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce high clarity and color accuracy. Outstanding Design The manual focusing design is benefitted by an integrated focusing tab for intuitive handling and a minimum focusing distance of 7.5" suits working with close-up subjects. Wide 126° angle of view pairs with a rectilinear design, which renders subjects with minimal distortion in order to suit the landscape and architectural applications. The five-blade diaphragm produces distinct 10-point sun stars and specular highlights when stopped-down and photographing point light sources. Lens Hood and Optional 62mm filters The built-in petal-shaped lens hood helps to prevent stray light from causing lens flare and provides some physical protection to the lens's front element. The front of the lens is threaded to accept optional 62mm filters. The lens is also compatible with an optional, dedicated 100mm filter holder.
